Professor’s Lake in Brampton was the setting for the Run4Hope 5k, 10k Run/Walk on April 24th, which saw 404 participants run and walk the courses. Brampton Mayor Linda Jeffrey ran the course of the race, and Brampton Councillors Jeff Bowman, Pat Fortini & Doug Whillans sounded off the start of the 5k race. The course circled Professor’s Lake and included a loop along North Park Drive, just to the south. The primary charity the race supports is Sky’s the Limit, an organization that collects refurbished laptops, and works with Big Brothers Big Sisters to donate them to underprivileged youth. The 5k winners were Nelly Pereira (22:37) and Haseeb Malik (16:44) and the 10k winners were Syed Ali (27:46) and Margarita Hernandez (43:16). Race sponsors included Dr. H.V.A.C., Jay Electric, Brampton Crossfit, Limitless Coaching and Fletcher’s Meadow Cross Trainers (FMCT).
